#8 Central Missouri (10-2-1) continues on road at #23 Washburn after a 1-0 win against Emporia State on Friday night. Washburn comes off a 2-0 home win against Missouri Southern. Washburn would off strong against the Central Missouri Jennies. Early in the half, a lateral pass from Junior Riley Wells in the 6th minute would convert with a shot from Khloe Schuckman that placed the ball in lower left side of the goal out of reach from the goalkeeper. Washburn would continue to attempt shots on goal but would be outshot the rest of the half by the Jennies. Central Missouri would have 4 shots however could not translate on the scoreboard. At the end of the half Washburn would keep their lead of 1-0. Central Missouri would push out of the gates in the second half with a fast attack allowing a failed attempt on goal by Junior Ashleigh Martin. This would be the only shot the Jennies would be allowed before Washburn took over. Junior Riley Wells and Freshman Mackinly Rohn would both have exceptional shots on goal that would be saved. Washburn would then turn to defensive mode to finish out the game.. #23 Washburn would go on to upset #8 Central Missouri 1-0 at the end of regulation. Central Missouri would end their road games on a 1-1 split, moving their overall record to 10-3-1. Washburn would end their weekend home stand with 2 wins advancing their record to 12-1-1 on the season. After Sundays win against the Jennies, Washburn would take hold of 1st place in the MIAA. Not only that Head Coach Davy Phillips would hit his career milestone of 100 wins on Sunday at Yager Stadium. Washburn heads to Central Oklahoma to continue their season on Friday.
